LEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — FEMA and MEMA have come to terms on a debris removal issue.

The two agencies have agreed to pay for tree parts damaged by the April 28 tornado.

Tupelo and Lee County officials have been lobbying for the agencies to foot the bill for rootball and tree stump removal in the area.

This comes after FEMA officials declined requests to cover the costs.

FEMA and MEMA have informed local governments they have until July 26 to gather disaster-related debris from rights-of-way.
