Video: Fire Investigators Looking at All Possibilities for Cause of Sulligent Fire

SULLIGENT, Ala. (WCBI) — While Alabama fire investigators continue to pinpoint the cause of a fire that destroyed two historic buildings in Sulligent, city leaders are looking to the future.

Sulligent Mayor Scott Bowman said fire marshals are checking automated meters to see if an electrical surge occurred before the fire.

Other evidence leads them to believe the blaze was electrical in nature.

Sulligent city workers have cleared away the debris.

Both buildings were insured, and locally owned.

Sulligent city leaders will meet this evening at 7 p.m. to discuss options to rebuild.
