WINSTON COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) -The annual appreciation event for foster and adoptive families got off to a great start in Winston County.

Parents from all over the region came out to learn more about the program and help share information about foster parents to other families. The event focused on showing appreciation for the parents and their continued dedication and commitment to providing safe and permanent homes for children in care. This year community partners, potential resource parents and their families were also invited to participate.

“Right now we’re in desperate need of foster homes in our region for teenagers and sibling groups. We’re training our foster parents how to go out to the community to recruit other foster parents for us,” said Leah Hill, Regional Resource Supervisor.
