TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – More than 60 Girl Scout Brownies got to be creative, Saturday.

Health Works in Tupelo sponsored a Girl Scout Art Day, where a local artist helped them earn their “paint” badge.

Tracey Williams of Health Works says the girls learned different painting techniques with or without a brush. She says developing these girls’ creativity at an early age is very important.

“Whether they’re a good painter or not that may not be their talent, but it is always a way that they can have an outlet to do something that’s really fun and might take their mind off of something. Whether it’s painting or music or art or dance or theater, some kind of art is always very very good for our brain and for our mood,” Williams said.
