TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – At this camp, kids are encouraged to play with food. It’s all for science and it can be messy.

“We did the pumpkin vomiting experiment,” said Kabil Gupta, a 7 year old camper.

Besides seeing the chemical reaction produced by mixing vinegar and baking soda, participants at Healthworks Great Full Camp also saw what happens when grains are heated.

The annual camp gets youngsters out of the house and also helps parents and family members tackle their Thanksgiving to do list.

“This is a great way, this week since the kids are out of school for parents to have free time, maybe get turkey, Thanksgiving meals prepared and the kids can come and have fun and play together,” said Kim Burleson, a “High FLying Kid Motivator” at Healthworks!

There’s also time for arts and crafts and to help kids see the importance and fun of exercise, the Zoom Room at Healthworks has been transformed into an Indian and Pilgrim Obstacle course.

Great Full Campers say they are learning a lot about health, exercise and science.

“So everyday, you will make good choices and do good things, that won’t affect you,” Gupta said.

Tell me one thing you learned you didn’t know before this morning?

“Science experiments are fun,” said Camper Carley Fryery.
