CLAY COUNTY, Miss.(WCBI)–For the next few days Hebron Christian School in Clay County is hosting their first ever math fair.

High school students there have been busy researching and constructing pictorial displays telling just how math is used and effects every day life in a variety of real world applications. One projects factors in creation while another looks at numbers on a credit card.

“I did come to the conclusion that math is the language of creation. And its not something that we just discover, its something that we discovered not something that we created,” said Morrisa Shettls/Hebron Christian School.

“A lot of people have credit cards in the U. S. There is like over one billion, like a lot of credit cards that people use,” said Carrington Smith/Hebron Christian School.

The students gave oral presentation of their displays using math to even solve a make believe CSI Type crime at the school.
