TUPELO, MISS. (WCBI) – Music lovers throughout Northeast Mississippi are being encouraged to help a young band spread their unique sound around the world.

The fundraising drive for Homemade Jamz Blues Band kicked off at Tupelo’s Convention and Visitors Bureau, where a mini concert was the highlight of a press conference  announcing a fundraiser for the trio’s fourth album.

“Right now we’re at 33 percent of our goal of 10 thousand dollars, which we’re so excited about and we just hope we can help spread the word and keep this train on rolling so we can get fully funded,” said Ryan Perry, vocalist and guitarist.

Seven years ago, Ryan, Kyle and Taya Perry formed Homemade Jamz.  They have released three albums and have received critical acclaim for their music and have toured extensively.   They’ve written 17 songs and are ready to get into the studio.

“It’s been about three and a half to four years since we relleased our third album and we felt it was overdue to our fans to bring out some new, foot stompin, had jerkin music and we just want to get back into the studio and produce more music for everybody to listen to,” Ryan said.

The band is using the website, kickstarter dot com to raise money for their project.  The fundraising campaign runs through Christmas Day.   Donors can contribute as little as one dollar, but there are rewards for higher levels of giving.  For example, those who donate more than 300 dollars receive a custom cigar box guitar, made by Ryan and signed by the band.

It’s a way to get a special gift and help a talented trio continue the rich musical legacy that has its roots in Northeast Mississippi.
