Video: Illinois Ministry Reaches Out in Maben

MABEN, Miss. (WCBI) – It’s a joint effort between several ministries but one ministry comes to Mississippi from Illinois, reaching those in need. The group gives away items, such as clothes, shoes and toys to local residents. The Love Fellowship Outreach ministry, from Illinois, is partnering with a local Maben church, as they give back to the community around them.

It’s not the first time they’ve visited Mississippi with their ministry, but it is their first time in Northeast Mississippi. The Love Fellowship Outreach Ministry began their giveaways in the Mississippi Delta and are now working in Maben. The ministry collects a variety of donations from their partners in Illinois, from clothes to food, there is something for everyone in need.

“For the last few months we’ve been asking ministries to make donations and we take those donations and we just bring them down to Maben so that we can bless those families in need,” says Pastor Matthew Ware, with the Love Fellowship Outreach Ministry.

All of the donated items are free to the public. More than 100 community members stopped by the Kingdom and Glory ministry to fulfill their needs this holiday season.

“We look past any socioeconomic status, we look past the location. Our motive is if we have something, it’s not ours, we’re supposed to give it to others and give it as though we’re giving it unto Christ,” said Pastor Ware.

Pastor of Kingdom and Glory Ministry, Vivian Lanier, says giving back is a blessing to their church family.

“This really has been a blessing. There were about 150 people here that were blessed on today,” said Pastor Lanier.

“We’re doing Kingdom work and it’s all about Christ and His love, it’s all about Jesus and we thank and praise God for that,” said Joanne Taylor.

Pastor Ware is already planning their group’s next trip to Maben.

“We heard some people say the real need is food, so we’re already collecting food and we’re going to bring another load probably in January or February,” said Pastor Ware.

The Love Fellowship Outreach Ministry will hold their Maben food giveaway after the new year.
