STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI)-International talks & trading: That’s what dozens of Itawamba Agricultural High School students got a dose of yesterday.

Around 20 students traveled to Mississippi State for an international economic summit.
Dressed in cultural attire, high schoolers represented 8 different countries.
They also acted like global traders: competing for resources, forming alliances and engaging in debates about global issues.

Braxton Byles of the Ethiopia Team said, ” We’ve never done anything like this, like come and compete with everybody. ”

Marketing instructor Sandy Prestage told WCBI, “They’re not just competing with other students at Itawamba Agricultural High School for jobs, they’re not just competing with students in North Mississippi, the jobs they will be trying for later on, they’ll be in competition with people from all over the world. ”

Students also talked to admission officials and got a tour of MSU’s campus.
