TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) — Some local children are learning how animals use camouflage to protect themselves in nature.

About 20 of them attended the first Junior Ranger program of 2014 at the Natchez Trace Parkway Visitors Center.

They normally have this program on the third Saturday of every month.

Workers say the Junior Ranger program is designed to teach kids ways to preserve the parkway.

They say children can become certified Junior Rangers if they complete sessions like Saturday’s, or complete the Junior Rangers booklet.
