STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – Beautiful landscape work on the Music Trail at McKee Park in Starkville is causing a six year project to begin taking root.

MSU architecture students and Starkville Pilot Club members got their hands a little dirty today[Friday] as the last of some 130 plants and shrubs were planted at the park. Out of ten original designs, the students think they came up with the right one.

“We’ve chosen plants to attract birds and butterflies so that the children and seniors, anybody can come and commune with nature,” said Liz Johnstone, Starkville Pilot Club.

“We’ve been slowly adding the instruments. We’ve put in three for each of the last three years,” said Ellen Boles, Starkville Pilot Club.

The landscape work brings to fruition the architectural design created by MSU Students.
