COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — Attention shoppers: with four days left before Christmas many people are heading out for those last minute items before Christmas morning.
Santa and his helpers aren’t the only ones working over time to make sure all the presents are wrapped and placed under the tree before Christmas morning.
With Christmas right around the corner folks in downtown Columbus are getting in some last minute shopping.
“Shopping for future in-laws and this is the perfect place to be. More small items you know gourmet items, some pottery items, and also stocking stuffers if I can find them; which I’m sure I will here I just haven’t looked for them yet,” says Karmel Crandall.
Shopper Karmel Crandall says last minute shopping can be stressful but seeing her families faces is priceless.
“Giving them something that they would not necessarily expect and yet seeing a surprise on their face of enjoyment and liking it,” says Crandall.
“Hopefully I get through today because I don’t want to be caught in that last minute rush,” says Tomekia Sykes.
While some are shopping for stocking stuffers… others are shopping for those relatives.
“I’m doing last minute Christmas shopping for my mom. I did all my other shopping but she is the last one because it’s hard to buy for her,” says Sykes.
And shoppers say even though they’re out hunting for those last minute items, THEY WON’T forget the true meaning of Christmas.
“Merry Christmas to everybody and hope everybody has a safe Christmas and a Happy New Year,” says Sykes.
“Just Merry Christmas and come shop downtown,” says Crandall.
