WATER VALLEY, Miss. (WCBI) – A non-profit organization in Yalobusha county raised funds this morning at the Water Valley Farmers Market.

Leah’s House is a faith-based foundation that provides a free 90-day program for women ages 18 and up who struggle with personal addictions and other life challenges. Each item displayed at their booth at the farmer’s market was hand crafted. All the proceeds go towards the program since they only receive funds through donations. One woman who went through the program says she would be homeless if it wasn’t for their help.

“I would be on the streets to be honest. I was living in a car. I had been lost for a long time and they pretty much brought me to Christ. I feel a whole lot better emotionally and physically,” says Samantha Burke, a participant in the program.

The foundation has been open since March and their program has helped seven girls so far.
