Video: Local College Student Named HBCU All-Star

EUPORA, Miss. (WCBI) — A local college student is getting some national recognition.

Rodney Rice is one of 75 students nationwide to be named an All-Star with the White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

Rice is from Eupora, and is a senior at Mississippi Valley State University.

These All-Stars were recognized for their accomplishments in academics, leadership and civic engagement.

They’ll serve as ambassadors for the White House Initiative.

Rice is a speech communication major, and will graduate in May.
