TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) –

It was an opportunity for students at a pre-kindergarten school to build fire trucks, robots and other fun things with help from their dads.

Students at Tupelo’s Early Childhood Education Center took part in the annual Build With Dad event.

For weeks, students and their families have been collecting various items to use in today’s arts and crafts lesson.

Some students and their dads built fire trucks, because they are also learning about fire prevention as part of Fire Safety Month. Other students built robots and other things with their dads as part of the hands-on lesson.

“We have been saving for about a month now all our different bottles, boxes, cans, toilet paper rolls, paper towel rolls — just anything like that, and they were able to use that and build with it.”

This is the second year ECEC has hosted Building with Dads.
