Video: Longtime MUW Faculty Member Named Faculty Member of the Year

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — An MUW faculty member dubbed the Faculty Member of the Year told students a little bit about her story tonight.

The university’s Gordy Honors College’s Forum Series kicked off with a lecture by Mary Jo Kirkpatrick.

Kirkpatrick is the director of the MUW Associate of Science in Nursing program.

Gordy Honors College Director Thomas Velek says the lecture enables the award winner to tell the audience what motivates them, and what their goals for the future might be.

Kirkpatrick is retiring in June this year, which will mark the end of her 39-year tenure at The W.

Tonight marks the second Faculty Member of the Year lecture.
