LOUISVILLE, Miss. (WCBI)-Louisville Board of Alderman unanimously passed a smoking ordinance at Tuesday night’s meeting.

The ordinance will ban all smoking in public places. However, building owners and inspectors will determine the exact locations.

The smoking ban was created by Mayor Will Hill’s Youth Council.

Students from Louisville and Winston Academy worked to gather information from Louisville residents who want a smoke-free city.

The smoking ban could go into affect as early as April.
