Video: Lowndes, Columbus Schools Prepare for WorkKeys Tests

GOLDEN TRIANGLE, Miss. (WCBI) — Some Lowndes County and Columbus educators are learning the ins and outs of the WorkKeys test.

The exercise was part of a multi-entity initiative to bring the WorkKeys test to Golden Triangle high schools.

GTR LINK and East Mississippi Community College officials have been in talks with high schools in the region on implementing a pipeline to skilled manufacturing training for high school students.

12 local educators took the WorkKeys test this morning as they try and determine what material they will be required to teach students.

Those same teachers also took the CareerReady 101 Prep Course to supplement their future curriculum.

Columbus schools plan to teach the training course after school, and Lowndes County schools will provide the course during regular school hours.
