Columbus, Miss. (WCBI) – Lowndes County remains ready to meet the needs of a new industry. On Monday Supervisors reauthorized issuing up to 3o million dollars in bonds for industrial development projects. The County has reauthorized the bond deal every two years for the last eight years, even though it hasn’t yet needed to tap into the resource.

Since Lowndes County started doing the bond authorization in advance to be prepared for industrial prospects, several other counties have followed suit to provide more assurance to new job prospects.
