LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss.  (WCBI)-With some prospects already showing interest, Lowndes County takes a step to be ready for the next new jobs producer. Supervisors today approved a 250 thousand dollar match to a 500,000  TVA grant to make improvements to the county’s 1,700 acre Aerospace Industrial Park. The money will pave two lanes of a gravel road leading into the site. The road will allow industrial recruiters to better show sites in the park. The matching money will come from grants and loans on previous projects that already have been repaid.

“It’s going to provide $500,000 to extend Charleigh Ford Road over to our property that we purchased a few years ago.”

The Link also is working with Agricel on another 100,000 square foot spec building to lure potential industries. The county’s first spec building now is being converted for use by Cal Star Environmental Products.
