EUPORA, Miss. (WCBI) — It’s been nearly a year since Eupora Police Officer Keith Crenshaw was killed in the line of duty. Now those who knew and loved the fallen officer are gathering once again to honor his life.

“He was a fine officer. He was a good person. He was dedicated to his job and most importantly, he really enjoyed riding a motorcycle,” says Eupora Chief of Police Gregg Hunter.

Motorcycle Riders from across Northeast Mississippi gathered in Eupora to honor a fellow rider, fallen police officer Keith Crenshaw.

“It’s a loss that we will never get over. It has gotten easier but again, the outpouring of support from everyone has just been unreal,” says Larry Crenshaw, Keith Crenshaw’s father.

Officer Keith Crenshaw was killed in the line of duty last year. Crenshaw was hit by a get-away car as bank robbery suspects tried to escape. Philadelphia Assistant Chief of Police Julian Greer came to pay his respect to a fallen brother in blue.

“Everyday is a different day. You never know what’s going to happen. You never know if you’re going to be able to come back home to your family. But it’s also that joy of giving and serving your community,” says Greer.

This is the second year for the Crenshaw Memorial Ride. They raised nearly $1200 and had nearly 70 participants, double the number of riders from last year.

“It’s just mind-boggling to think that they think enough of the family and of Keith to honor him in such a grand way,” says Crenshaw.

The riders took a 70 mile ride from Eupora, stopping in French Camp for lunch, before heading back to Webster County.

Officer Crenshaw is the only officer in Webster County to be killed in the line of duty.
