TUPELO, MISS. (WCBI) – A new policy from the Institutions of Higher learning makes it easier for minority owned businesses to land contracts with colleges and universities.

To help business owners navigate the paperwork and other requirements to land contracts, a minority business expo will be held next week in Oxford.

It’s being put on by the online business www.where2go411.com and it will provide a forum for minority business owners to meet with leaders from both Ole Miss and MSU to see what opportunities are available for vendors.

Organizers say this is the first time state universities have made such an effort.

“This is a real commitment and they are looking for businesses who are shovel ready, who have the capacity to do jobs on their campuses, we’re talking about people who may have drug testing services, construction companies, drywall services,” said Kathy Times, of where2go411

For more information on the conference go to www.where2go411.com.
