LOUISVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – The Louisville Municipal School District is now a partner in the MSU College of Education’s 1st professional development school endeavor.

The College of Education hosted an open house to mark the partnership at Eiland Middle School in Louisville. MSU’s Department of Curriculum, Instruction and Special Education will instruct teachers on the Middle School’s campus. The graduate level courses will serve as professional development for elementary, secondary and special education teachers.

“I’m actually taking one of the graduate courses here that’s offered on Thursday nights and Dr. Franz is teaching it and we have learned so much. There’s 8 of us in the class so we’re all kind of working together. We’ve learned about differentiated instruction, having more autonomy in the classroom and just overall being better teachers which is why we’re taking the class in the first place,” says 7th grade teacher Hanna Hardy.

College of Education students also work in Louisville schools for teaching internships and experience.
