NEW ALBANY, Miss. (WCBI) — It was a night to shine for more than 120 special people t in New Albany. Hillcrest Baptist Church was one of only 44 churches in three countries hosting the Tim Tebow Foundation’s A Night To Shine. There are 7000-participants taking part worldwide.

The special needs individuals are given a chance to enjoy food, dancing and even a limo ride. Hillcrest Baptist Church member Dawn McKinney is one of the organizers.
It’s a group of individuals often called the least of these, ” she explains. “And they are often seen as ‘the least of these’. And they’re often told ‘no’ a lot. And Tim Tebow and his foundation wanted this to be a place where they were told ‘yes’. Some were not able to go to their own prom and this is the place where they’re able to come to a prom or even if they’ve been to a prom before, they’re able to come again.”

The event was all about fun and one of the participants was McKinney’s own special needs son. She says the Tim Tebow Foundation hopes to make this a yearly event. McKinney says the church has its own special needs ministry called Halos Helping All Love Our Savior.
