NEW ALBANY, Miss. (WCBI) – New Albany police are looking for suspects involved in the burglary of a pharmacy, that may be connected to similar crimes in other cities. Last week, police say someone broke into this vacant store in the Bramlett Shopping Center. They broke through a wall and into a hair salon next door, and from there, smashed a hole in the wall to get into the Rite Aid Pharmacy. The culprits disabled the security system, and stole narcotics from the pharmacy. New Albany Police Chief Chris Robertson says the crime is unusual in several ways:

“Normally what we see traditionally is smash and grab type of burglary. In this particular case it’s not what happened so it leads me to believe we’re looking for somebody with a lot of time, in this operation.”

New Albany Police Chief Chris Robertson says the crime is similar to other burglaries in Pontotoc and Houston. He says police are looking at surveillance video and pursuing other leads in the case.
