CORINTH, Miss. (WCBI) – After six years, the town of Corinth has a new water treatment plant and distribution system.

The new plant cost $50 million and took an act of congress for it to even happen.

Construction on the plant was completed in mid-March, and the state health department tested the new system. It had to pass the health department’s three-part evaluation including technical, managerial and financial assessments. The plant passed the assessment with a 5 out of 5 – a perfect score.

The system will bring upwards of 10 million gallons of water per day to the Corinth Gas and Water’s 7,000 customers. The new system also has the capacity to supply to outside associations.

At the dedication today, Lieutenant Governor Tate Reeves was there for the dedication of the new plant located in Glen, Mississippi.
