LOUISVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — Volunteers from all over have come to Mississippi to help tornado victims with recovery.

Diane Rude and her husband are part of the Gateway Disaster Relief from Union Beach, New Jersey.

The couple spent their first day helping others continue to cleanup debris a week after the April 28 tornado.

Both volunteers have spent the last year and a half helping Hurricane Sandy victims get back on their feet.

With spare time, they were able to bring their services to Louisville.

“Until June we were freed up a little bit so we have a friend who had been down here already and he called and said please come help so here we are,” says Diane Rude.

The couple plans to stay for at least a week.
