TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) — North Mississippi Medical Center has graduated its latest class through its Family Medicine Residency Center.

Ten doctors graduated from the NMMC’s Family Medicine Residency Center during a ceremony this afternoon in Tupelo.

Some of the graduates will stay in the area, either in academic roles, or in medical practice, while others will go into fellowships, or leave for opportunities in other areas.

Doctors say the graduation marks a milestone in all their careers.

“The beginning of a career, of a new life, where they touch families and associate with communities,” Dr. John Mitchell with the physician workforce said. “Some will continue their education, but most will be finding permanent locations to live, dwell and interact with their patients.”

Incoming interns were also introduced during the ceremony.
