COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — A special Columbus boy gets to sleep in a brand new bedroom.

13-year-old Kristopher Meaders has a rare disorder, so the non-profit group, Rebecca’s Rooms, stepped in to make over his bedroom.

Kristopher loves cartoons, so it has a SpongeBob Squarepants theme.

His bed now has a SpongeBob footboard. He also got a new play mat, and TV and DVD player.

Kristopher’s mother says she’s grateful for all the volunteers’ help.

“I’m so excited and I’m so blessed,” Hope Meaders said. “I just want to thank them for what they did, and I know they didn’t have to do it, but I really appreciate what they did, and I love them for what they did, and this is what my son has always wanted, and I am just overjoyed.”

Volunteers also repaired and redecorated Kristopher’s bathroom.
