Video: North Lee County Water Association Holds Annual Meeting

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) – Members of a rural water association got an update on the progress made on improvements its overall system.  The North Lee County Water Association Board of Directors held their annual meeting tonight at the new headquarters of Tombigbee Electric Power Association. Members were briefed on the status of the confidentiality agreement with the city of Tupelo over water rights for the annexed areas of Tupelo now serviced by North Lee County.

“I’m really looking forward with positive feedback that we’re going to end up being able to negotiate something with the city for both the customers that are in those annexed areas and for the rest of North Lee’s membership that will be effected.”

And the water association announced the results of its election to fill three of the nine board members. Incumbents Paul Anglin and Terry Morgan were re-elected, along with newcomer Terry Gurley. The board will also have to decide how to fill a fourth vacancy on the board.
