MACON, Miss. (WCBI) — A new jail may be a done deal in Noxubee County. Supervisors have approved a $2.1M bid from Macon-based JEM Contracting. The decision marks the third time county leaders have asked for bids.

Construction is expected to begin in April. The new jail will be located just north of the current facility on Pearl Street. Noxubee County’s aging jail was built in the 1970’s.
