OKTIBBEHA COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Area residents can help shape the future of the Sam Hamilton Noxubee Wildlife Refuge.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is hosting a series of public hearings to get public input on managing the refuge and making improvements during the next 15 years.

Developing the plan is expected to take up to two years as wildlife service determines how best to take advantage of and preserve the refuge’s unique assets.

Meetings are planned Friday in Macon, next Tuesday in Louisville and January 24th in Starkville.
