STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — They responded during their time of need.

We’re talking about nearby hospitals.

OCH Regional medical Center was one of many medical centers who treated patients when Winston County Regional Medical Center was destroyed in Louisville’s tornado.

The ER is pretty quiet today, but that was a completely different story April 28. So many patients come through OCH that day. In fact, they’re still treating people who need to remove stitches from that day.

Hospital staff say they all pulled together that day helping storm victims in need of care.

“We had staff from surgery, we had staff from pharmacy. People from everywhere were coming down,” OCH ER Charge Nurse Lynn Gregg said.

“When you have an event like what happened on April 28th, it just reinforces the necessity of doing those drills,” Disaster Preparedness Officer Wes Andrews said.
