Video: Okolona Students Get a Taste of Politics

Okolona, Miss. (WCBI) – Third graders at one elementary school are learning all about the electoral process.For the past few weeks, Okolona third graders have been studying different branches of government,  roles of each branch and also how elections are held.

Today,   mock elections were held as several students campaigned for president.  they made posters,   wrote and delivered their own speeches, then their classmates registered and voted.
A president and vice president were elected for each third grade class.   Teachers say it gives students an idea of all that goes into the election process.
