STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — The most recent draft of the Oktibbeha County nightclub ordinance packs a punch. Supervisors have been working on the ordinance since a March shooting at Club Rock brought the issue back to prominence. The newest draft includes a provision which would create a regulations committee to oversee nightclub violations. Businesses in a similar category will also be required to obtain operating permits before opening for business.

The ordinance will be effective 30 days after a final draft is agreed upon and passed.
