MABEN, Miss. (WCBI)-The town of Maben shows off it’s newest asset this afternoon.

City leaders held an open house for Maben’s new city hall around one o’clock Tuesday (12-11).

Work began in June 2011 and was completed just in time to serve as a voting precinct for last month’s elections.

The new building includes more space for city offices, the police department, and a meeting room for the mayor and aldermen.

“We had an old building that wasn’t real good and it wasn’t safe and we’re just glad and thank God for allowing us to have this opportunity and we pray that other communities that are in situations like this, get a good public facility for their community, says Mayor Larry Pruitt.

The new building is funded from two grants from Mississippi Department authority and rural development. The Cumming family from

Maben also donated $50,000 for the new building.
