MISSISSIPPI (WCBI) — Four months after the state started issuing voter ID cards, just over one thousand Mississippians have gotten one.

Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann’s office released the number today.

Claiborne and Tunica Counties have not issued one voter ID card.

The secretary says research shows less than one percent of Mississippians lack an acceptable identification card that’ll be needed for the June 3 primary.

In our viewing area, Chickasaw County had the most residents at 41 needing the voter ID cards.
