COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) — The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and other acts had to dodge the rain Sunday morning to put on a good show for dedicated spectators.

Because of the weather, gates at the Columbus Air Force Base opened an hour early Sunday morning for the Wings Over Columbus Air Show.

Fortunately no shows were canceled, but some had to perform a bit earlier.

Residents also got the chance to check out the dozens of planes and cars on display.

Base officials say 3,000 people attended Sunday’s event.
