PONTOTOC, Miss. (WCBI)-It took eight months of investigation and the cooperation of five law enforcement teams.

Now, Pontotoc County Sheriff’s deputies have rounded up 20 people and arrested them on drug charges.

The men and women picked up in the raid range in age from 19 to 58.

Each is charged with selling drugs; a few with additional conspiracy counts. Sheriff Leo Mask of the Pontotoc Sheriff’s Department says, “It was all parts of the county and some of them were major and some of them were not major, but they were selling drugs. It’s taken us right at 8 months to get all this set up like we got it set up and to make all the buys and for as many people that were involved in and having to make several buys off some of the same individuals to get a good case against them.”

Each of these cases will be presented to the Pontotoc County grand jury in May.
