STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — Despite the rain, hundreds of people put their mind and body to the ultimate test.

The 2nd Annual Crucible Challenge was held at the Highland Plantation in Starkville.

Participants endured a 4.2 mile course involving mud, water and other obstacles.

One race participant says it was a cold start.

“It was hard to get started. Wind was blowing and rain was going sideways over the course but it cleared up. I feel accomplished. I feel good. I feel really happy to be done with it,” says Karen Templeton.

Proceeds from the race will benefit the Reclaim Project and Camp Seminole.
