RATLIFF, Miss. (WCBI) — The recovery from the tornadoes continues almost two weeks after the April 28 storm.

One of the casualities was the Oak Grove Cemetery in the Itawamba County community of Ratliff.

The tornado blew off the roof of a nearby church, and it added to damage to the cemetery’s entrance.

Dozens of tombstones were broken and many are still strewn over the landscape.

Workers say some of the tombstones are 150 years old and there are no family members around to take care of the repair costs.

Mother’s Day weekend is normally set aside as a decoration day at the cemetery so there were plenty of people on hand to fix up the gravesites.
