LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI)-Every organization needs its “heroes,” people who go above and beyond to make the group a success. Today, a group of those “heroes” got to work for the Lowndes County chapter of the American Red Cross. The individuals and businesses agreed to raise one thousand dollars each to help the Red Cross chapter provide everything from C-P-R classes to assistance to fire victims in the community. A thousand dollars will pay for needs as diverse as 167 blankets for disaster victims to clothing for nine children who are victims of a fire.
