Columbus, MS (WCBI)-The iconic Salvation Army Red Kettle’s are coming up a little empty this Christmas season. Bell ringers have been out in front of stores for weeks now.
However, the Salvation Army says donations are down 16 percent thus far.One reason is because the kettle ringing season is five days shorter than last year because Thanksgiving fell late this year.
The non-profit says those days could amount to a ten thousand dollar shortfall in the Golden Triangle.
Donations will be used to provide meals, shelter, and toys to needy families this Christmas.
