Video: Renasant Bank Suspect in Custody and Charged

[bitsontherun EhSrgovU]TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI)-A suspect has been arrested and charged with two Renasant Bank Robberies. Tishomingo County Deputies caught up with 35 year old Brian Jones on the Natchez Trace early Monday (11-19) evening. Jones, who’s from Toney, Alabama, is suspected of robbing the Renasant Bank on North Gloster Street, in Tupelo, Monday afternoon. Lee County Investigators think Jones also robbed the Renasant Bank on Veterans Boulevard back in September. In addition, he could be a suspect in Renasant bank robberies in Iuka and Booneville. Jones looks very much like the man captured by security cameras at both the North Gloster Street and Booneville robberies. Detective Matthew Wigginton of the Tupelo Police said, “We were able to recover several different pieces of evidence that tied him to this robbery. I won’t go into specifics right now.” Nobody was hurt in the robberies. Investigators think Jones committed the crimes to support a drug habit. Bond is set a one million dollars.
