ABERDEEN, Miss. (WCBI) – Monroe County residents are coming together to remember an Aberdeen woman whose body was found last week.

25-year-old Teresa Ewing had been missing since August 25. On Friday, Aberdeen Police and search volunteers found her body in Peacock Alley.

On Sunday night, community members joined together for a time of prayer and support for Ewing’s family.

Organizers of the vigil hope this will bring some peace to her family.

“At least they will know that there were strangers out here that never met their daughter, or their sister, or the children,” said vigil organizer Barbara Hastings. “We never met their mother. We’re just hoping that they know somebody cared about her and kept going.”

Officials say they have several persons of interest and the investigation is ongoing.
