LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) — The Lowndes County school board is getting closer to buying the land where it wants to build a proposed career tech center.

Appraisals have been done on two sites near the intersection of Lehmberg Road and Mississippi Highway 50.

One of those sites is 18 acres, and owned by Ralph Youngblood. It’s appraised for $380,000, but officials say Youngblood wants $472,000 for it.

The other property owned by Lott Ventures is more than 12 acres, and is appraised for $430,000.

Lott is asking for $761,000 for the property.

The school board will make a final decision soon.
