STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) – Starkville aldermen have their eyes on a three-story building for a future police department. City officials have been keen on relocating Starkville police headquarters. During the Board of Aldermen’s regular meeting, City Chief Administrative Officer Taylor Adams planted the seed for possible relocation to the local Cadence bank’s main office located at the intersection of Jackson St. and Main St.

Aldermen approved consigning a city-appointed appraiser to determine a value on the 39,000-square-foot building. This comes after city leaders began moving toward department expansion once the new Municipal Complex is completed. A public hearing for the police department relocation has been slated for July 15 at City Hall.

The Cadence office will still be located in Starkville if the plan progresses to a buyout, but will be relocated to Russell St.
