STARKVILLE, Miss. (WCBI) — Starkville schools are getting a financial shot in the arm from a 28-year-old source.

The school board has accepted more than $474,000 from the city left over from a 1996 school construction bond issue.

The bonds have been paid off, so the money is free and clear.

If the public doesn’t object in 30 days, the district can use the money for building repairs or additions, school buses, or computers and other technology.
