Video: Steen Streets Flooding

LOWNDES COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Some people who live in the Steens area of Lowndes County are heading to higher ground.

The Lowndes County Road and Sheriff’s Departments are advising people get out while they can.

Right now, roads in the area are still passable, but that could change.

The Luxapalila River and its tributaries are expected to rise about another foot before reaching their peaks late Thursday (1/17) afternoon.

The last time the area flooded was April 2011.
