Video: ‘Stop the Hurt’ Rally in Tupelo

TUPELO, Miss. (WCBI) — A coalition of social services groups, along with law enforcement officers are trying to raise awareness about child abuse and prevention. April is Child Abuse Prevention Month and to help make people more aware of the problem and resources,  the annual “Stop the Hurt” rally was held in Tupelo. Hundreds of people were able to get information on ways to report and prevent child abuse.

There were also a number of activities for kids such as inflatables, face painting and other souvenirs. There was also free food for guests.

Groups such as the DHS, Family Resource Center, Social Work students and professors from Ole Miss Tupelo Campus and other agencies were on hand for the event.

Next week, a conference will be held in Tupelo for mental health professionals and social workers on ways to prevent child abuse.
